Rameshwaram temple (ramanathaswami temple)

When Lord Rama killed Ravana and returned to India with Sita Mata. they didn’t see any Shivling around. So he asked Hanuman Ji to go and get a Shivling from Kashi. Hanuman Ji immediately left for Kashi to take Shivling. Then Lord Shree Rama Ji thought that Kashi is far away so that there is no delay in coming to Hanuman Ji, so he made a sand lingam with Sita Mata Ji and start worshiping. Hanuman Ji was Pawanputra. So in a while, he brought Shivling from Kashi. But when he saw that Lord Rama was already worshiping Lord Shiva, Hanuman Ji was very disappointed. Lord Shree Ram Ji established and worshiped both Shivalingas to remove the disappointment of Hanuman.

And it was also said that whoever comes here to worship here, he will have to do the first worship of Hanumant Shivling( the Shivling brought by Hanuman) then Ramanatha Shivling made by Ram Ji.

The temple of Lord Vishnu called Sethumadhava is prominent among them. Ramanatha Temple is a specimen of exquisite workmanship in the Dravidian style. This temple is on 15 acres of land. Its water is holy and miraculous, in which bathing removes all diseases.

Dhanushkodi

Lord Sri Rama started construction of a bridge across the ocean from this place for climbing in Lanka. Building a bridge in the Dhanushkodi Ocean was a very difficult task. Therefore the Banar Sena kept writing the name of Ram in each stone. And it floated instead of sinking. Such stones We can see in Rameswaram. Later they broke the bridge in Vibhishan’s request from where The bridge was broken, that place is called Dhanushkoti.
